Welcome from the President:
Dear Fellow Gardeners:

Welcome to the Men's Garden Club website. I hope the information you find here will inspire you to become a part of our family of gardeners. We meet monthly for dinner and fellowship from the Fall through the Spring.

Our interests extend to all types of gardening including lawns, vegetables, flowers, shrubbery, trees, water and exotic plants. We promote civic projects, gardening education and environmental improvement.

Our dinner meetings are usually the fourth Thursday of the month. Interesting gardening topics are presented by guest speakers at the meetings.

We also have a Ladies Night dinner twice a year. However, if any of our programs are of special interest to the ladies, they are always welcome.

Our Horticultural Therapy Program (Gardening from the Heart) in cooperation with the Center for Disability Services in Albany, is one activity we are most proud of sponsoring.

We produce a monthly newsletter, entitled The Dirt. We offer horticulture consultation, plant studies and reports, discounts at arboretums, botanical gardens and gardener supply houses. We participate in the Gardener's Calendar, a seed exchange program and we offer solutions to gardening problems.

We are a very active gardening organization.

Each year we help decorate the Ten Broeck Mansion in Albany for the December holidays. We have also adopted a one mile stretch of highway on I-90 between exits 6 and 7 where we exhibit a floral display.

The members of the organization demonstrate their gardening prowess by beautifying the Albany International Airport. We also sponsor display booths at two county fairs in the Capital District -- the Altamont and Schaghticoke Fairs. We also participate in the New York State Fair in Syracuse.

Some of our members are affiliated with the Gardeners of America, Men's Garden Clubs of America and their upstate New York regional chapter.

We hope you will want to join us for our dinner meetings and learn more about gardening and participate in the wonderful accomplishments of our group.

Thank you for visiting our website.

Best regards,

Bruce Wilcox
President
